“Media as Questionable Role Model”

Technology is everywhere.We can randomly see or witness it every single day of our lives.In the modern world that we live in today, technology give many benefits and ,of course, disadvantages. It comes with many subconcepts that we people are well informed of.

One of the things that has risen along with technology is Commercial advertisement.People, especially businessmen, took great advantage of the availability of this things.Commercial advertisements or simply known as commercials, are of great use for people. Its main purpose is to advertise products and make them publicly recognized.

They can be seen or heard anywhere.Commercials can be on television, newspapers, posters, billboards, computers, etc., but the most dominant source of commercial advertisement is the television.In a nation where everyone watches television, tv commercials receive high ratings and public acceptance. There is even a possibility that people would run their lives according to what commercial they have heard or watched.

Due to the jiggly jingles and the artists featured in the commercials, people hardly get over them. They’d be singing the jingles or site famous lines from commercials randomly.

But what do you think are the effects of too much reliance of people on commercials?

What do you think is the effect of commercials to children, to teenagers or to individuals?

Children see an average of 20,000 commercials each year. As stated earlier, commercials are catchy and entertaining—it’s likely that children have learned many slogans and jingles, and adults even remember some from their own childhood.

Commercials try to convince children that they need to buy certain foods, toys, and clothes—many of which they don’t actually need—to be cool and happy.

The effect is that they crave for certain things that they have seen on screen but is actually a little bit heavy in real life which makes it hard for the parents or guardians to cope up with what the children wants.

Jumping to teenagers or the
“in beTWEENS”, analyzing their inhalation of commercials and the way they react is somehow more manageable.

The problem is they sometimes forget to check out whether the product endorsed is truly compatible for them. When they like the endorser or they like the deliverance of the endorsement they try hard and give their best in order to avail it.

For individuals, commercials might be considered as part of entertainment, knowing that it lies between television programs and serves as short intermissions, we can easily think that it means nothing more than being television entertainers.

Lastly, Technology was made to help make things easier.Televisions were invented to help entertain people, Commercials were produced to enhance our acknowledgement to the things and people that surround us, so let us not waste all this things because of misusing and abusing our rights in order to take full advantage of them.
