God’s Love Should Radiates From Us

Our faith is like a seed; if it is fed, watered and tended it will grow and develop. Without help, the seed may die, or weeds may choke its development. We think that we can do it all with our own strength, and the wonder why we struggle. In fact it is a hopeless task alone, but then God steps in and makes the impossible possible and gives us the freedom we need to run the race, to grow and blossom.

Our freedom was gained through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross- how can we accept such a gift and not offer something back as a show of gratitude?

If you know someone who doesn’t have any clothes or food, you shouldn’t just say, “I hope all goes well for you. I hope you will be warm and have plenty to eat.” What good is it to say this, unless you do something to help? Faith that doesn’t lead us to do good deeds is all alone and dead.

Abraham pleased God by putting his son Isaac on the altar and sacrifice him. Now you see how Abraham’s faith and works go together. He proved that his faith was real by what he did. This is what the scriptures mean by saying, “Abraham had faith in God, and God accepted him.”

You can now see that we pleased God by what we do and not only by what we believe.

As what the scriptures said in James 2:26, “Anyone who doesn’t breathe is dead, and faith that doesn’t do anything is dead”

Each moment is a fresh opportunity from God to begin anew. Because each moment is a precious, I do not allow outgrown attitudes and behavior from the past to govern me. Past mistakes may indicate the outlook that I held then, but the newness of each moment allows greater unfoldment within my spirit, mind and body. This is what I felt when we are celebrating the Christian Living Activity Month with the theme of “Rough Road Ahead Challenge Your Excuses.”

In I Corinthians 9:24Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. This is the thing that everyone does in La Verdad Christian College- Caloocan. We do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. And that crown is to glorify the Lord .Therefore we do not run like someone running aimlessly; we do not fight like a boxer beating the air. We do not do this to compete with others but rather we do this to praise the Lord for his unspeakable gifts. As what ate Levy Tansengco always said, the prize is just a spice that adds flavor for us to do our very best. Because the main goal is on how God be glad on what we are doing for Him and that’s the true essence of this activity. All  the fatigues, pains and sacrifices has gone while we are all standing on the stage and sang a song of praise to God.

With every fiber of my being, I know that I was created to be an expression of God’s life within me. Answering his higher calling, I celebrate the life of God that is within me and that is expressing through me. Christians belong to Christ, and as His sheep they hear His voice and follow Him.
